Why Choose Us
Our UCI Health plastic surgeons are nationally regarded experts in the latest techniques, including free-tissue transfer, microsurgery and craniofacial surgery. We provide all our adult and pediatric patients with the best, most aesthetically pleasing results.
-
Reconstruction expertise
We have experts in reconstructive procedures after breast and other cancer surgeries, and we work closely with the specialists at the UCI Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, as well as with other UCI Health physicians.
These collaborative relationships allow us to perform plastic and reconstructive procedures as part of other surgeries, which can reduce the number of procedures a patient undergoes, speed healing time, minimize costs and produce optimum results.
- Trauma and burn expertise
If you or a loved one has suffered severe burns, our plastic surgeons team up with trauma and burn specialists to repair damage as early as possible and enhance healing.
-
Leaders in plastic surgery
Our body-contouring experts are skilled at helping patients who have experienced massive weight loss, whether on their own or after successful bariatric surgery.
For patients in Orange County and the region who are seeking the most experienced physicians to perform plastic surgery and both surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures, there are no better practitioners than the UCI Health Plastic Surgery team.
Conditions & Treatments
Reconstructive and cosmetic surgery can restore self-esteem and create an improved, natural appearance for patients after a disfiguring accident, disease or surgical procedure, or who were born with anomalies.
We have experts in current techniques such as free-tissue transfer, microsurgery and craniofacial surgery. We coordinate care with other UCI Health physicians and surgeons, including cancer specialists at the UCI Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. This makes it possible to include plastic and reconstructive procedures during other necessary surgeries, when appropriate.
From the initial consultation through post-surgical recovery, our team of plastic surgeons and highly trained medical staff strive to provide you with the best possible care and outcomes.

Research
The researchers of the UCI Health Plastic Surgery laboratory are at the forefront of developing alternative tissue replacement strategies to avoid harvesting donor tissues during reconstruction.
We are working on the development of cellular and biodegradable materials to reconstruct bone, cartilage, nerve and skin tissue in collaboration with the Center for Biomedical Engineering, the Reeve-Irvine Research Center, the departments of Biology and Molecular Biology at UCI.
As part of this research, our plastic surgery team routinely conducts a wide variety of clinical trials, including fibrin sealant glue for wounds, cultured epithelium for skin grafts and non-contact ultrasound for determining the depth of burns.
Patients who enroll in these trials have access to the latest advances well before they are available elsewhere.
Our Physicians
UCI Health plastic surgeons are leading experts in Orange County and the region for breast and facial reconstruction, body contouring after massive weight loss, cosmetic rejuvenation and the repair of cleft lips and palates, especially in children.
