Along with UCI Health Neurosurgery Services, we have started a Spine Tumor Board that meets weekly to discuss cases with a round table of experts, including radiation oncology, radiology, hematology-oncology, neurosurgery and orthopaedic surgery.”

Wu, a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon, sees patients at the UCI Health Comprehensive Spine Center. He specializes in the management of cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine disorders. He is also an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the UC Irvine School of Medicine.

Wu is passionate about providing excellent care and helping his patients achieve their treatment goals. He performs a range of open and minimally invasive spine procedures, such as cervical laminoplasty, motion-sparing cervical disk replacement, tubular decompression for disk herniations and robot-assisted surgery.

His research interests include patient-reported outcome measures in spine surgery, global health, leadership and medical education. He is the author of many peer-reviewed articles in preeminent orthopaedic journals, including Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Journal of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Spine Deformity. Wu's global health work includes academic partnerships with surgeons in low- and middle-income countries, such as Malawi and Tanzania.
