An important message from UCI Health about your Cigna coverage
UCI Health is negotiating with Cigna to reach a new agreement that preserves uninterrupted access to care for you.
If a new agreement is not reached before July 1, 2026, UCI Health hospitals, facilities and physicians may become out of network for patients with Cigna health plans.
Currently, nothing is changing. You may continue receiving care at UCI Health while negotiations continue.
What this means for you
If UCI Health becomes out of network with Cigna:
- You may experience higher out-of-pocket costs
- Some services may no longer be covered at in-network benefit levels
- Access to certain UCI Health providers or services may change depending on your plan
Emergency medical services will continue to be available at UCI Health hospitals.
What UCI Health is doing

Examples may include:
- pregnancy
- active cancer treatment
- serious chronic conditions
