Chad Lefteris named one of Orange County’s most influential
UCI Health emergency physician also recognized on OC Register's OC125 list
Orange, Calif. — UCI Health President and CEO Chad T. Lefteris is a bold Orange County changemaker whose vision is reshaping the future of healthcare in the region. He has been recognized for the health system’s historic expansion in the Orange County Register’s annual OC125 List.
The recognition comes on the heels of the opening of the state-of-the-art UCI Health — Irvine acute care hospital.
The 144-bed facility is the nation’s first all-electric acute care hospital and will offer services in cardiology, digestive health, neurology and neurosurgery, oncology, orthopedics and spine.
UCI Health trauma surgeon Dr. Sigrid Burruss was also named to the list for helping train physicians, nurses and other care team members on SB693, a state law that requires hospitals to screen emergency patients for signs of domestic abuse or human trafficking.
A growing system
As a sustainable, high-tech hospital of the future, it represents Lefteris’s vision and his commitment to the community.
The 1,461-bed, six-hospital academic health system now includes:
- The flagship UCI Health — Orange, formerly known as UCI Medical Center
- UCI Health — Irvine
- UCI Health — Fountain Valley
- UCI Health — Lakewood
- UCI Health — Los Alamitos
- UCI Health — Placentia Linda
The UCI Health Rehabilitation Hospital opens next summer.
