Our approach to radiology

We know that learning about a potentially serious illness can feel overwhelming.

How we work together

Radiologists are medical doctors who examine and interpret imaging scans, diagnosing and sometimes treating conditions.

Our approach to care is collaborative across disciplines. This means our radiologists work with many specialists to determine the best treatment for you, including:

We will help your care team understand the status of the condition you have. We will also help surgeons locate surgical sites and guide them through complex procedures.

Women's imaging

We offer 3D mammography to help detect breast cancer sooner. Because early detection increases survival rates, this groundbreaking screening allows your radiologist to examine each layer of breast tissue. 

Abdominal imaging

Our experts use high-quality imaging tools to identify diseases of the abdomen and pelvis as early as possible. We also assist with complex procedures such as uterine fibroid treatment, virtual colonoscopies and organ transplant.

We offer four primary types of abdominal imaging:

  • CT of abdomen and pelvis
  • CT and MR angiography of abdomen and pelvis
  • Fluoroscopy of gastrointestinal and genitourinary systems
  • MRI of abdomen and pelvis

Interventional radiology

We combine diagnostic imaging with minimally invasive procedures. Interventional radiologists work closely with surgical specialists to treat kidney, lung or other cancers and conditions.

Our specialists can perform MRI scans during a surgical procedure. This allows your surgeon to see in real time, which is an extraordinary aid for increased precision and decision making. This leads to better surgical outcomes.

Targeted treatments for cancer, including prostate cancer

Pluvicto offers precise, personalized radiation therapy for prostate cancer. This targets cancer cells while minimizing damage to healthy tissue, which means fewer side effects and less discomfort.

Walk in

General X-rays do not need an appointment and are performed on a walk-in basis at UCI Medical Center in Orange, UCI Health — Tustin, UCI Health — Yorba Linda, and in Irvine at the Joe C. Wen & Family Center for Advanced Care and Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and Ambulatory Care building.
