UCI Health Rehabilitation Services is an outpatient program providing physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.

Our dedicated, committed clinicians work with you closely to development a therapy plan that suits your individual needs and goals. Whether you need to regain your function or adapt to a new limitation, our clinicians are with you every step of the way.

Our treatment programs are offered for all medical conditions, including:

Parkinson’s Wellness Program

The UCI Health Parkinson’s Wellness Program (PWP) offers weekly classes for people who experience difficulty moving and thinking due to Parkinson’s disease or Parkinson’s-like symptoms. These group-guided exercises are designed to teach participants how to use high-effort movements and to provide strategies to improve posture, balance and everyday function.

To enroll in Parkinson’s Wellness Program classes, you should be able to:

  • Express basic needs
  • Follow directions independently
  • Get up from a chair and on/off the floor
  • Pass screening tests on the quality of your current movement
  • Stand and participate in exercise independently

Cost is $40 per month.

Stroke STRONG Program

The UCI Health Stroke STRONG Program is a 14-week program designed for people who have experienced a stroke. 

Using the principles of neuroplasticity, the program features strength and endurance training supervised by therapists with additional training in neurologic rehabilitation. It's designed for those individuals who have completed physical and/or occupational therapy. 

To enroll in the Stroke STRONG Program, you should be able to:

  • Express basic needs
  • Follow directions independently or with the assistance of a caregiver 
  • Pass screening tests
  • Perform seated or standing exercises independently or with the assistance of a caregiver

Pelvic Floor Workshop

The UCI Health Pelvic Floor Workshop is a free class designed to learn how to strengthen your pelvic floor.

Learn more about:

  • Preparing for labor postpartum concerns
  • Pelvic physical therapy

Our compassionate and highly trained team of therapists is solely devoted to your recovery. UCI Health Rehabilitation Services includes:

Occupational therapists

Occupational therapists work to help you find ways to adapt their environment to their needs. Occupational therapists may perform an evaluation of the patient's home, workspace or school. They may also make recommendations for assistive devices, then train you in their use. They also work with you to craft an individualized therapy plan. You are an integral part of the therapy team.

Physical therapists

Physical therapists use a variety of methods depending on your individual goals. You may want to to reduce pain and restore mobility, or you may need to be taught how to manage your condition.

Speech therapists

Speech therapists are trained to identify and treat a range of issues with communication and swallowing. You may need speech therapy if you have problems with your voice or have Parkinson's disease and are having trouble being understood.

Wound therapy

A wound that doesn't heal can be a serious and painful condition. Our wound therapists craft unique treatment plans to address all types of wounds, including those as the result of a burn or surgery.
